Twin Lakes House

On a forested, conservation-protected, this home was designed to protect local wildlife and tread lightly on the land. Built small by choice, it uses prefabricated straw-insulated panels, site-milled pine floors, and charred wood siding for natural, low-maintenance durability. South-facing windows capture winter sun, cutting energy use, while mineral paints and lime plaster keep the interior non-toxic and breathable.

  • Clinton Hill Renovation

In this Clinton Hill, Brooklyn brownstone, we unfolded a two-bedroom apartment to work harder—adding a home office and second bathroom within the same footprint. The oversized bedroom was divided to restore original proportions; a laundry closet expanded into a compact powder room. Mineral-based, VOC-free paints kept the air healthy—smarter space that lifts both daily life and market value.

  • Bergen Custom Builds

Located in Frida Escobedo’s recently completed building in Boerum Hill, this project focuses on simple, efficient storage and careful material selection. Plywood, free of added formaldehyde, is finished with natural tung oil to enhance durability and warmth, revealing a rich grain that is both understated and enduring.

  • Nursery

A 100-year-old Oradell, NJ home gets a calm, healthy nursery. We used VOC-free mineral paint, natural wool carpet, and playful wallpaper for cleaner air and lasting comfort. A convertible crib grows with the child—mini crib to toddler bed—reducing waste while keeping the room simple and safe.
